I began to dissect the following checklist of Obama accomplishments in Part 1 of this multi-part series. I say “multi-part” because I’m still unsure as to the number of postings it’s going to take to respond to these falsehoods, misrepresentations, and fantasies laid out below. Let us continue the Refuting Idiocy series with Part 4.

12. Saved the auto industry and 1.5 million jobs – CHECK

The Dear Leader “saved 1.5 million jobs”. Says who? I love how the assumption is made that if government would not have stepped in, “x” amount of jobs would have been lost. Yes, GM, Chrysler, etc. would have shed jobs if the market was left to its own devices but companies also rebound and jobs come back in a truly free market as well. There’s no guarantee of employment after companies go through normal bankruptcy processes, but it’s not government’s job to guarantee employment, despite what the statists might think. It’s not the job of government to swoop in and keep these companies afloat via the public trough. This arbitrary 1.5 million figure is awfully presumptuous. Let’s get something straight. Barack Obama did not save the auto industry. He hasn’t saved anything. To be accurate, he brought socialism to the auto industry and bailed out his union buddies with taxpayer funds.  Case in point from the state-controlled press:

A government watchdog says U.S. taxpayers are still owed $132.9 billion that companies haven’t repaid from the financial bailout — General Motors and financial firms — and some of that will never be recovered.

The bailout, launched at the height of the financial crisis in September 2008, will continue to exist for years, says a report from Christy Romero, the acting special inspector general for the $700 billion bailout, according to wire reports in the Detroit Free Press.

…The gyrating stock market has slowed the Treasury Department’s efforts to sell off its stakes in 458 bailed-out companies, the report says:

They include insurer American International Group, GM and Ally Financial, the former GMAC, GM’s credit arm.

…Congress authorized $700 billion for the bailout of financial companies and automakers, and $413.4 billion was paid out. So far the government has recovered about $318 billion. The bailout is called the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP.

The implementation of TARP under George W. Bush was wrong and Obama’s continued courting of TARP was wrong. Bailing out private industries is incompatible with capitalism and is nothing that our Founders would have ever approved of. What our liberal friends fail to understand is that government intrusion into the private sector is not how a functioning free-market operates. We are not the Soviet Union. Private companies must fail and go through bankruptcy like everybody else – whether it be Goldman Sachs or General Motors. The idea that certain companies are “too big to fail” is a crock. Taxpayers are still on the hook for these disastrous bailouts and it’s a joke to even consider government meddling in the auto industry as any sort of accomplishment.

Most liberal arguments can be refuted by asking the simple question: “At what expense?” Union jobs were saved at what expense? At the expense of American taxpayers and the free market? Sorry, that doesn’t work for me. This is a textbook example as to why government should stay out of the market and adhere to its limited roles under the Constitution.

Barack Obama carries himself with unprecedented arrogance for a president, governs like a dictator, and his acolytes treat him as such. Public bailouts of private companies – that’s socializing not saving. By the way, how are those Chevy Volt sales coming along, Mr. President? What’s that? Only 603 vehicles sold in January? Geez…I thought you saved the industry…

13. Assisted in ousting Ghaddafi – CHECK

Obama has patted himself on the back for the Arab Spring, OBL’s assassination and, of course, Ghaddafi’s ouster and subsequent death in Libya. By the way, would you libs be applauding Colonel Ghaddafi’s ouster if Bush was still in office? The question is rhetorical. We already know the answer.

Things are transitioning so smoothly in the Middle East and North Africa. It’s a blessing that Obama backed the Colonel’s downfall. After all,   getting rid of Ghaddafi in favor of sharia law has been a much more desirable trade-off then say – any form of democracy. Now the people of Libya can live in peace under sharia. Women and homosexuals will be treated with the utmost respect. The freedoms are endless. Isn’t it great how this all turned out? The fading light of potential democracy in Iraq is slowly being snuffed out while sharia law and Islamo-Fasciscm continues to saturate the entire region. We’re one step closer to world peace and utopia.

Thanks, Obama.

14. Only active President to receive Nobel Peace Prize while in office – CHECK

Yes, and he’s also the only president to be awarded the honor without having done anything. He took office in January 2009 and was awarded the prize in October. But of course, he fit right in with the other statist presidents who have won the award in the past: Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter. How fitting Obama would be the next president to receive the award as he lives out President Carter’s second term.

The Committee made the case for the decision based on “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.”

The gushing continued:

Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama’s initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population.

For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world’s leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama’s appeal that “Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.

As we now know, Obama was unable to lower the sea-levels but the nominating Committee thought we were experiencing the Second Coming. It’s no coincidence that the award was bestowed upon the Dear Leader following his world apology tour of 2009. How heart-warming it was to see an American president jetting around the globe – apologizing to everybody who would listen and explaining how we were no longer going to be the rotten country that had existed for over two hundred years. George W. Bush was now a distant memory and Barack Obama was going to right all the wrongs that had been exacted upon the world thanks to the imperialist United States. I’m exhibiting my typical facetiousness but in fact, this is truly how Obama feels. Just read his own books – Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope. It’s all there. In fact, Dinesh D’Souza wrote a brilliant book that everyone should read – The Roots of Obama’s Rage. It sums up Dear Leader’s worldview in perfect fashion.

Anyone who thought that a glorified community organizer from Chicago was going to be the “world’s leading spokesman” is just as foolish as those who thought he’d be the most unifying president in American history. He is the world’s leading buffoon and an embarrassment to the legacy of our Founders as he tries to force his utopian schemes down the throats of the American people.
